Every NightTide Metal piece is crafted from solid sterling silver and made to accompany you through everyday life. Like all precious metals, sterling silver will naturally change over time, developing character with wear.

With a little care, your jewellery will continue to look its best for years to come.

Sterling Silver

Sterling silver naturally oxidises when exposed to air, moisture and everyday elements. This may appear as a darker patina or slight tarnishing.

This is completely normal and can be easily removed with a silver polishing cloth or a quality silver jewellery cleaner.

Many NightTide Metal designs intentionally feature oxidised details to enhance depth and contrast. When cleaning your jewellery, avoid excessive polishing in these recessed areas if you wish to preserve the darker finish.

Everyday Wear

We recommend removing your jewellery before:

  • Swimming (especially in chlorinated or salt water)
  • Showering
  • Exercising or playing sport
  • Gardening or heavy manual work
  • Sleeping

Avoid exposing your jewellery to perfumes, hairsprays, lotions, sunscreen and household cleaning products, as these can accelerate tarnishing and dull the finish.

Storage

When not being worn, store your jewellery in a dry place away from humidity.

Keeping your pieces in the NightTide Metal pouch or jewellery box will help reduce exposure to air and minimise tarnishing.

Avoid storing multiple pieces together, as silver can scratch when items rub against each other.

Cleaning

For regular care:

  • Wipe your jewellery with a soft polishing cloth after wearing.
  • Use a quality silver cleaner when required.
  • Rinse thoroughly and dry completely after cleaning.

Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel wool or harsh chemicals.

Natural Wear

Scratches and small marks are a natural part of wearing sterling silver jewellery and add to the character of each piece.

If your jewellery becomes heavily scratched or loses its finish over time, professional refinishing can restore its appearance.

Warranty

NightTide Metal provides a 12-month workmanship warranty covering manufacturing defects.

The warranty does not cover:

  • General wear and tear
  • Scratches or dents from everyday use
  • Tarnishing or natural oxidisation
  • Damage caused by impact, misuse or improper care
  • Loss or theft

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law are not affected by this warranty.
